My advertisement that I had printed through Tiger Copy. They came out great and looked quite professional for an RA’s program.
Residents at the University of Memphis, feel free to join us. (shh..cupcakes!) This program had about 30 people attend and residents from other floors and buildings. I actually had non-residents attend because they heard about my program from Facebook. This was a great program and Richard Scott came from Career and Psychological Counseling Center. Rich spoke on the LGBT community on campus and how these people can be discriminated against. He also spoke on ‘Save Zone’ which is to help provide a safe campus for the LGBT community. There was opposing views at my program, but everyone was very respectful and in general everyone supported the idea of having a safe and respectful campus.
The second floor lobby of Smith was packed and had residents standing because of a lack of furniture. I had brought up chairs from the first floor lobby, but I still had some people standing so that they could attend. Richard Scott was a little squished, but over all this was a great program. For refreshments I served fruit punch and cookies. The refreshments were not advertised, and did not contribute to the success of this program.
